Your Home Note, how to find most relaxing tonality

I got a chance to do some muscle testing with Larry Green. We found his home note by playing around the circle of fifths and muscle testing each of the 12 notes.

Find your own home note!

We’ve got Larry and his friend testing out a whole experiment to find his *home note*—basically, the note that makes him feel most relaxed and balanced. They’re using SynthMaster 2 to play each note and an oscilloscope to see all the cool details like frequency and harmonics. As each note plays, Larry gives feedback on how it feels: Does it make him feel chill, agitated, or super zen? If it’s right, Larry might just let out a sigh or nod like, “Yep, that’s the one!”

They go through all 12 notes on the keyboard (hello, Circle of Fifths!), trying each one and using muscle testing to check if Larry’s body reacts stronger or weaker. Muscle testing is just a fancy way to let your body “talk,” so it shows up as strength (for good vibes) or weakness (not so much). For extra fun, they sometimes play two notes at once for maximum harmony—like stacking A flat and E flat together because those notes are harmonic buddies.

After playing each note, they realize that A flat is Larry’s vibe! It’s like the magic chill frequency that resonates best with him. It’s so strong that they wonder if listening to or singing along with songs in that key could feel especially grounding and harmonious for him. They even joke around about how awesome it would be to play around with this note using Synth One on his iPhone because, yep, there’s a synth for that (and it’s free!).

All in all, they’re diving into the world of sound, harmony, and frequencies with a mix of science, humor, and curiosity. Larry’s body responds to A flat like it’s his personal theme song, proving once again that music really does vibe with who we are.
