I turned the dial to G Major and it gave me a whole set of advanced chords that sound harmonious in the key of G. In the video I explain how I made a unique chord progression.

First I borrowed some chords from a song that I like. I looked up the sheet music on the internet. That gives me a good starting point. You can do this too by picking some chords from a song you like. It doesn’t have to be the whole song, you can pick just a few chords, or maybe just the verse or just the chorus. I used just 8 bars from the chosen song.

I made a downloadable cheatsheet that quickly show how to create some tunes, and let the decoder give you some awesome sounding chords to use.

I wrote the chords down on a piece of paper. I like using paper because I think it helps my brain work better. Then I rearranged the order of some of the chords. Now a have a unique progression, so not to copy someone else’s song

Since the chords I used were in the key of G, I could use the Magic Music Decoder ring to give me a set of advanced chords to chose from. Now I have a rainbow of color coded chords to choose from.

I substituted some of the basic chords in the progression for a few advanced chords.
