Science Excitement at Franklin Academy<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

The first grade students at Franklin Academy II campus were recently treated to some Awesome Science Fun<\/u><\/b>!  <\/span>  <\/span>Laboratory Larry with Mad Science® delivered a one of a kind, very hands-on science experience introducing the children to a world of discovery and sparking their imaginations. <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

They got to explore the three states of matter by becoming atoms.  <\/span>They built a giant bubbling potion and even carbonated plain drinking water into a lemonade delight!  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

First Grade teacher, Jennifer London shared, “It was so fun watching the excitement in the room!  The students really learned a lot and we enjoyed the presentation!”<\/span><\/p>\n

Mad Science Workshops encourage scientific literacy in children at an age when science is as vital as reading, writing and arithmetic. <\/span><\/p>\n

Franklin Academy is able to offer cultural experience to our students through a grant from the United Arts Council of Raleigh and Wake County, Inc, with funds from the North Carolina Arts Council, a state agency, and Wake County Government and the Wake County Public School System.  Generous funding for Artists in the Schools program at Franklin Academy is provided through generous grants from the Franklin Academy Founder, Bob Luddy.  Additional support is realized through a grant from the Graham Johnson Cultural Arts Endowment (GJCAE) a 501 (c) (3) non-profit organization whose purpose is to develop, promote and coordinate the arts and cultural experiences for the community of Wake Forest as well as North Carolina.  GJCAE seeks to foster a sense of inclusiveness within our community, connect our communities and schools and to encourage participation in the arts by all members of the community.  <\/span><\/span><\/p>\n

We are grateful for the opportunity to have this learning experience for our students.<\/span><\/p>\n
